You’re Invited! Riverfront Memories - A Celebration of Community, Connection and the St. Louis River

This September, come celebrate the power of connection, memory, and place with the St. Louis River Alliance at Riverfront Memories, a FREE community event held along the beautiful banks of the St. Louis River.

Whether you’ve lived near the river your whole life or are just beginning to explore its wonders, this special gathering is your chance to reflect, share, and create new memories together with neighbors, family, and friends.

Activities

• 3-6 p.m. Free Portrait Sessions
  We’ve partnered with Pointed North Photography to offer complimentary professional portrait sessions with the river as your backdrop. Whether it's your family, your best friend, or just you and the water — come capture the moment. 👉 Sessions are first come, first serve — no registration needed. Free digital downloads will be available after the event.

• 3-7 p.m. Creative & Reflective Activities for All Ages
  Explore and engage with hands-on, family-friendly activities including:

  • A River Reflections writing station

  • Collaborative river mural with artists Ayana Greene and Julie Deters

  • Interactive river map

  • Guided river walks with the Duluth Foot Trails Alliance

  • A sensory connection station to deepen your relationship with the river

  • Fun games and crafts for the whole family

• 7–8 p.m. Stories of the River
  As the sun sets, gather around the fire for an intimate storytelling session with Naawakwe and Tom Howes, who will share stories of the river, its spirit, and its significance to the people who call this place home.

What to Bring

You’re welcome to bring your own snacks, lawn chairs, and water bottles. Come ready to relax, participate, and soak up the beauty of the river.

Parking Info

Limited parking is available at Chambers Grove Park. Overflow parking will be available at the adjacent Fond du Lac Campground and also 0.5 miles away at Fond du Lac Park (131st Ave. W & W 5th Street, Duluth). If you're able-bodied, we kindly ask that you park at Fond du Lac and walk to Chambers Grove to allow space for those with accessibility needs.
