Physics of the Paddle Blade: An Intro to SUP on the St. Louis River Estuary National Water Trail (SLRE) Recap + Photos

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our ‘Physics of the Paddle Blade: An Intro to SUP on the St. Louis River Estuary National Water Trail, with St. Louis River Alliance and our partner North Shore SUP on Thursday June 25th, at Munger Landing.

This event hosted 26 people, who all got the opportunity to try stand-up paddleboarding on the National Water Trail. Groups were small with a max of 10 people, and North Shore SUP offered an on land demonstration before paddling for the remaining hour.

Heather and Garrett from North Shore SUP led the paddlers on an excursion starting from Munger Landing, and pausing near the closest island (locals at the Marina call it ‘Rat Island’), then stopping at Spirit Lake Marina’s dock (approval was granted). Guests paddled downwind on the paddle back, and made it back to Munger Landing for a free dry bag give away curtesory of North Shore SUP.

Everyone who attended did amazing paddling, and tested their skills along the way. Heather and Garrett answered questions while on the water about gear, the river’s history, and paddle techniques.

We hope you had a blast, and join us at another event this summer.
