One More River Revival 9/17: Wrapping Up a Great Season Together
It’s hard to believe we’re already nearing the end of our first River Revival season!

Over the past several months, we’ve spent time together learning about Allouez Bay and Wisconsin Point, from the efforts surrounding manoomin (wild rice) and coastal wetlands to habitat restoration and the future of these special places. It has been an incredible opportunity to bring people closer to the work happening right here in our community.
Restoration projects can sometimes feel complicated or far removed from everyday life. River Revival was our way of changing that by getting people out to the places where the work is happening, meeting the people behind it, asking questions, sharing ideas, and having some fun along the way.
This season, we invited storytellers, scientists, engineers, and natural resource managers to share about the many projects happening in Allouez Bay and on Wisconsin Point. Below are the topics we explored:

Each gathering was a little different, but they all brought people together around a shared connection to these special places.
That has been one of our favorite parts of River Revival. We’ve seen neighbors meet neighbors, community members talk directly with project partners, people ask great questions, and conversations continue long after the formal program ended.
And we still have one more evening together.
Join Us for Ishkode

Our final River Revival of the season is Ishkode: The Past, Present, and Future of Fire on Wisconsin Point on Thursday, September 17.
We’ll gather at Wisconsin Point to learn about the return of cultural fire to this landscape and visit the site of the 2025 culturally prescribed burn. Together, we’ll learn about the important role fire has played in caring for Wisconsin Point, see how the landscape is responding, and hear about the work underway to support a healthier and more resilient future.

As we look back on the season, we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came out, shared their knowledge, asked questions, brought a friend, tried something new, or simply spent an evening learning more about the river.
There is so much exciting work happening at Allouez Bay and Wisconsin Point, and our hope with River Revival has been to make it easier for our community to be part of it.
