Reception & Open Mic Night | The River Speaks: Art of the Estuary

Join the St. Louis River Alliance on Thursday, March 5, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Wussow’s Concert Café (324 N Central Ave, Duluth, MN) for a night full of art celebrating the St. Louis River!

Opening Art Reception 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Join us for the opening reception of The River Speaks: Art of the Estuary, a community art exhibition honoring the St. Louis River. The reception offers attendees a first look at artworks exploring the estuary’s landscapes, wildlife, histories, and the personal connections people hold with the water.

This collection of mixed-media work provides a unique and diverse lens on the relationship between people and their environment, celebrating a sense of place. The exhibition will run throughout March 2026, with select works available for sale.

Art submissions are being accepted through January 31, 2026.

Open Mic Poetry & Song 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Following the reception, stay for an Open Mic Night from 6:30-8:30 p.m., featuring music, poetry, and stories inspired by the river. This is an incredible opportunity for community voices to come alive alongside the artwork. All skill levels, ages, and perspectives are welcome. A sign-up sheet will be available upon arrival, and slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Each performer will have 5 minutes on stage.

This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome!
