Community voices play an important role in restoring and protecting the St. Louis River Estuary. The annual public input opportunity for the St. Louis River Area of Concern (SLRAOC) Draft 2025 Remedial Action Plan (RAP) is now open April 13–26, 2026, and residents, partners, and stakeholders are encouraged to participate.

The Remedial Action Plan serves as a roadmap guiding restoration work throughout the SLRAOC. The draft 2025 update provides important information on current environmental impairment status, ongoing and completed restoration projects, and the steps needed to ultimately delist the SLRAOC as an Area of Concern.

The draft RAP and instructions for submitting comments are available on the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources SLRAOC website.

Community members can submit comments or questions directly to Matthew Steiger at matthew.steiger@wisconsin.gov. The deadline for submitting input is April 26, 2026.

Your input helps shape the future of the St. Louis River — consider taking a few minutes to review the plan and share your perspective.
