Ten Year Anniversary Celebration!


The Tenth Anniversary of the St. Louis River Citizens Action Committee is coming up March 19, 2006. Join us for a week of celebrating the Committee's accomplishments.

Events include:

River Rendezvous
When: Sunday March 19, 2006 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Where: Superior Senior High School Cafeteria
What: Carnival style games and activities featuring the St. Louis River and its inhabitants. This will be our celebration kick-off event, so come and have some fun! Sponsored in part by Great Lakes Aquatic Habitat Network & Fund, Republic Bank, Super One, Moose Lodge.
Booths include:
*Lillypad Cupcake Walk
*Sucker River: pick a winning sucker, get a prize!
Coloring Contest sponsored by WLSSD. Look for the paper version in Sunday's paper.
Cost: Admission is free; tickets for games are $0.50 each or $10.00 for 25

Science Panel
When: Wednesday March 22, 2006 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Where: Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College Conference Center, Superior, WI
What: Keynote speaker Dr. Beth McGee is the senior water quality scientist with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF). Dr. McGee will discuss how the CBF has helped restore the Chesapeake Bay estuary and the science that drives the foundation's programs. She will also give tips about how to motivate public participation in watershed restoration programs. Her talk will be followed by interactive panel presentations by 4-5 local St. Louis River experts who will discuss the progress made in areas such as fisheries, habitat, and water quality issues. Audience questions will be welcomed. Presentation and science panel sponsored by Minnesota and Wisconsin SeaGrant.
Cost: Free to all!

Gala Fundraiser and Silent Auction

When: Saturday March 25, 2006 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.
Where: Great Lakes Aquarium, Duluth, MN
What: This is a formal fundraising dinner and silent auction. Arrive prepared to enjoy Walleye and wild rice catered by Bellisio's and peruse the wonderful silent auction items.
Cost: $60 per person / $500 for Prime Location Table of 8
