The 2005 River Cleanup took place on Saturday, May 21, 2005 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Volunteers met at 40th Avenue West near Erie Pier below Highway 2. Everyone enjoyed refreshments provided by Alakef Coffee Roasters Inc, Super One Foods, and Bernick's Pepsi.

This event was organized by the SLRCAC Environmental Stewardship Committee with logistical support provided by the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District, Howard Waste Management, and the Duluth Economic Development Authority.

The crew cleaned up both the water and woods in the area.
