The St. Louis River Citizens Action Committee (CAC) organized the second annual Riverside Clean-up Project from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2000. Volunteers helped clean up the St. Louis River from McCuen Street to the Railway tracks. Volunteers met at the Boy Scout Landing parking area along Highway 23 in Gary New Duluth and brought gloves, sunscreen, hat and boots and waders. This event was organized by the CAC Environmental Stewardship Committee with logistical support provided by the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District, City of Duluth, Lake Superior and Mississippi Railroad and Howard Waste Paper Inc.
