2002 Canoe Trip on the Historic St. Louis River & Old Fashioned Picnic

The 2002 canoe trip took place Saturday, August 17, 2002 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Canoeists met at Boy Scout Landing, but due to high winds the canoeing portion of the trip had to be cancelled. Everyone moved to Billings Park where Jerome Blazevic gave a talk about the history of the area. A few people braved the waters in the protected area of the Billings Park boat launch in the Voyageur canoes. An old fashioned picnic of hot dogs, brats, bars, chips, and salads was served and enjoyed by all. A few rays of sunshine even brightened the picnic.
