1995 Awards (Presented in February 1995) Georgia-Pacific Corporation, Superior, for completing a pollution prevention project that eliminated the discharge of process wastewater, while at the same time creating a marketable binding agent for cattle feed. (Randy Marshall Award). Kathy Hermes, biology teacher at Marshall School, for outstanding environmental education efforts, particularly with the River Watch Program and waste reduction. (Milton E. Pelletier Award). Lake Superior Chapter of Muskies Inc., for educational efforts aimed at St. Louis River anglers, regarding fish identification and size limits, bioconcentration of toxics in muskies, and proper catch and release methods for muskies. They developed a brochure and distributed 6,000 copies. (Organization category). Wargin Farms for voluntarily seeking advice and constructing a manure storage and feedlot runoff control system, thus significantly reducing loadings of phosphorus and organic to Rocky Run Creek, within the St. Louis River watershed. (Small Business category). Laurie Abler and Karin Akre, students at Marshall School, for producing a three-part series of radio reports to educate the public about environmental issues related to the St. Louis River. (Individual category).
